I paid R450 to stay at Great Choice BnB in Goodwood last night and I kept waiting to find out why it’s so cheap. Your mind expects the worst like cockroaches, dirty linen, or a smelly room but none of it showed up 🤣
Not only did I get a big room (pics attached) but the bathroom was exceptional (especially that shower) and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. All my attached pics have their own caption 🥳
BONUS: It is perfectly located in 28 MURRAY STREET GOODWOOD
Normally I stay at my apartment in Greenpoint but we had an AirBnB booking. When I saw how cheap this place was on booking.com, I decided to treat it like a curiosity challenge and write about it afterward 🤣
Now granted, the aesthetics of the place aren't quite to my personal taste but I honestly cannot fault the experience of the stay. Looks aside, if you told me I had spent R1000 for the night, I would have said it was worth it.
I have to mention one last thing 👆🏻
When I booked I was really tired and I got my dates mixed up. Only after paying did I realise I booked for the wrong night. Luckily I phoned them straight away so they could see it was an honest mistake. Instead of being rigid about it they applied some logic and helped me amend the date. They didn't have to though.
This whole experience reminded me once again that you cannot judge a book by its cover. In a world of premium pricing and positioning, you would NEVER stay at a place like this but there is every reason to stay here. The fact that it's so affordable is the bonus.
I don't know if it will stay this way forever and I hope this post does not change their price but I had to give them a shout out 🤣
Obviously this post isn't sponsored and they have no clue I am writing it. I just thought it was a quirky and interesting experience worth sharing.
I am curious if any of you have stayed here and what your experience was like?
